Implementation Coordinators often had to travel or host virtual training sessions. The business wanted to reduce the number of onsite/virtual training sessions by developing self-paced learning, but one of the key requirements was to keep the learning as authentic as possible and create a process for a consistent output.
To keep the authenticity in the self-paced learning, I decided to include videos presented by veterinary professionals with experience in the field for that authentic feel. To create videos in a consistent manner, I set up a video production pipeline that allowed me to set up these kinds of productions quickly without reinventing the wheel.
01 · Writing the scripts
After all the learning objectives were defined, I start to write the scripts, and if needed storyboards for visual animations. These scripts were then reviewed by the presenter and subject matter experts.
02 · Production Planning & Logistics
Once all the scripts were signed off, I'd list out all the logistics that were required to record. Such as location, camera equipment, lighting equipment, audio equipment, and AV personnel.
03 · Recording & Editing
During a recording day, I made on-the-fly edits to the scripts and directed the presenters. Once the recording day was wrapped up, I would start editing the videos and publish them inside the training system.
