JayLearning. Knowledge Manager and Learning Designer for Hire
Jerrold (Jay) Pelupessy
About

I design learning, then design the way it gets built.

Sixteen years of instructional design, most of it inside teams that had more content to ship than hours to ship it. So I work on both sides: the learning experience, and the pipeline that produces it.

How I got here

In my first job as a B2B client service rep at Monster.com, I had to train my customers on the usage of their online recruitment platform. Since then I constantly found roles where I could utilize my skills as an educator for SaaS products, at LinkedIn that passion to stand in front of a classroom changed into a passion for education at scale. I often asked myself: “How can I reach more people with my training? . At that point I developed a sense of what it meant to develop to deliver training for an organization at hyper growth and how to act on it.

That knowledge and drive brought me to IDEXX Animana where I was given the opportunity to build a team, the educational strategy and the implementation of technology to make veterinarians successful running their business with their Patient Management Software.

That experience enabled me to work at OneStream, a highly robust, yet complex Enterprise Performance Management platform for Finance departments at global organizations. Here my skills were needed to guide a starting team into instructional design standards and introducing the organization to the concept of effective self-paced education for their users. I’ve managed to grow from an individual contributor to the lead of learning experience designers, mentoring junior designers, leading course development projects, and lately transforming the entire Content Development team to a more effective one by developing a variety of AI workflows.

I can work as a single designer on a project, but I’m also able to thrive in a larger development team, eager to share my knowledge and discuss how we can design learning experiences that help users do what they need to do with a SaaS product.
